This is a term contract for the delivery of countywide machine surfacing and patching works, supporting highway maintenance, safety repairs, and network improvements to extend asset life and improve road condition and ride quality. This contract requires the Contractor to plan, coordinate and deliver machine surfacing and patching works across Wiltshire Council’s highway network, including all preparatory activities needed to achieve the required standards for surface quality, texture and skid resistance. The service includes the replacement of road markings and road studs (cats’ eyes), together with the provision of all necessary traffic management. The works will primarily involve major resurfacing schemes using Dense Bitumen Macadam (DBM), Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) and Warm Mix Asphalt products, with Hot Rolled Asphalt and chippings used where required. Smaller-scale machine patching works will also be undertaken to provide permanent repairs to localised carriageway defects. In addition to resurfacing activities, the Contractor will carry out minor civil engineering works where necessary, such as adjusting or replacing covers and gratings, cleaning drainage systems and undertaking carriageway siding works in advance of resurfacing. The Contractor is expected to promote innovation and continuous improvement by proposing alternative materials and construction methods that deliver enhanced performance, durability, value for money, carbon reduction and environmental benefits. They must also identify opportunities to minimise disruption to road users and reduce the time spent on site. The Contractor will programme works to ensure they are delivered safely and evenly across the county throughout the year, while monitoring and reporting the carbon footprint of activities and providing social value commitments aligned with Wiltshire Council’s priorities.

Network Rail owns and runs Britain's rail infrastructure and is committed to providing a world-class network for train companies, freight operators and for passengers. Network Rail maintains, manages and improves every aspect of the infrastructure. Successfully planning and delivering maintenance, enhancements and renewals works to the infrastructure is the key to running a safe, reliable and efficient railway, serving customers and communities. Network Rail is seeking information from the market to support the next evolution of its Remote Condition Monitoring capability, currently known as RADAR. Remote Condition Monitoring is a strategic asset-management capability that enables Network Rail to monitor the health, condition and performance of railway assets remotely, supporting a shift from manual, inspection-led maintenance towards proactive, insight-led intervention. The current RADAR capability has evolved over more than 25 years and is business critical, but the wider estate includes legacy and alternative systems operating in parallel, creating complexity, cost, integration and resilience challenges. The future platform, referred to as RADAR 3, is intended to consolidate and modernise this capability, support national-scale asset condition monitoring, and provide a foundation that can scale into the future Great British Railways operating model. This procurement will be undertaken as an open market exercise using the Competitive Flexible Procedure under the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23), with the objective of procuring an Examinations system application comprising licences, support, and minor configuration. The purpose of this PME is to engage with the supply base and request information relating to platform, software and managed service capabilities available in the market for large-scale, enterprise Remote Condition Monitoring. The purpose of this Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) is to seek input from potential Suppliers within the market, for the provision of management services for the Council's Energy from Waste (EfW) Plant, to establish the type of solution and functionality that is available and to support the Council in discharge of its statutory duty for the Treatment and Disposal of Waste under Section 51 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (EPA). The Plant is a purpose-built energy from waste facility that provides treatment for up to 118,000 tonnes of municipal waste (including third-party waste) per annum. The primarily function of the plant is to ensure the environmentally compliant incineration of all waste collected by the City of Wolverhampton Council from kerbside collections and house waste and recycling centres (HWRC's). In addition to waste disposal, the plant generates electricity, currently enough power equivalent of 16,000 homes. The plant also processes from commercial customers to maximise capacity and electricity generation.
