This project will undertake a comparative analysis of case study sites within England with varying community engagement and nature recovery activities. Results from this project are aimed at allowing the full power of engagement to be realised through community and individual level actions that can be taken to increase engagement of individuals and communities. The East West Railway Company (the Authority) is responsible for the delivery of East West Rail (EWR), a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project providing new and upgraded rail links between Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge. The Authority is undertaking preliminary market engagement in advance of a planned procurement for Client Support Framework (CSF) Partners to support the development and delivery of the EWR programme. Primary Care Networks (PCNs) will be appointed to act as delivery partners in the implementation and evaluation of this model. Working alongside specialist respiratory teams, based at Hull University Teaching Hospital, participating PCNs will support the identification, review and management of high-risk patients, while helping to build capability within primary care. The project will test the feasibility and impact of this neighbourhood-based approach and generate learning to inform future commissioning decisions and potential wider adoption across the Humber region and beyond.
