UPDATE 14 Sept 2026: NEW DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: 10AM on this Friday the 18 Sept 2026. Trafford Council - Provision of Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation - Soft Market Testing. Please note that this is not a call for competition. This is a soft market testing exercise is undertaken on behalf of Trafford Council under the provisions of the Procurement Act 2023. Purpose: Part IV of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 mandates a statutory duty on local authorities to provide safe accommodation for people fleeing domestic abuse. In Trafford we currently provide safe accommodation in the form of refuges for women, families and male survivors of domestic abuse. We also provide dispersed accommodation for some survivors when they move on from refuges. Trafford Council are undertaking this soft market testing exercise to fully understand what the market can offer and the challenges in procuring and setting up this service. It is hoped that this will be an opportunity for us to obtain an insight of how participants might approach delivery of the service, and how they might address circumstances that may impact on the service. It will also help us to further understand the market. We anticipate that should a tender exercise be undertaken, the maximum annual value for the contract might be in the region of £357,559, and the duration to be 5 years, with an initial period of 12 months with the option to extend for period(s) of up to 48 months. We are therefore seeking expressions of interest from participants with the relevant expertise and experience to assist us in determining the feasibility of this project by answering the questions that are published on the Chest portal - Project Ref DN827443. DCMS is seeking to commission a two-phase research project to investigate UK media consumption habits and public trust in media. Phase 1 would consist of a behavioural cohort study (or another appropriate methodology) to map the specific "user pathways" audiences take to find, consume, and value information across different media sources, such as traditional news broadcasts and social media, across different demographics. Building on these findings, Phase 2 would explore how individuals perceive trust in different media sources due to their own perception of mis/disinformation, assess the broader effects of these consumption pathways on factors such as viewer retention and wider social cohesion, as well as overall integrity of the UK's information ecosystem. This project will be commissioned either through a Competitive Flexible Procedure under the Procurement Act 2023, or through the RM6126 Research and Insights framework. This is part of the DCMS Science and Analysis R&D Programme, which supports R&D capability within the department. This project will run concurrently alongside three other large projects across 2027-2030; these include 'what works' research into AI adoption in DCMS sectors; a continuation of previous research to develop data-intensive approaches for capturing engagement at unticketed cultural, heritage, and sporting events/activities/locations, e.g. using mobile app data to model how people participate in our events; and a continuation of previous research to design and improve methods for holistically tracking the long-term impact of major events, tested on a major event.
North Yorkshire Council (the Authority) is requesting information from suppliers to help determine the scope and feasibility of its requirement, to understand the range of potential solutions available in the market, and to assist with drafting a potential future tender specification for Cyclical Painting and Pre-Painting Programme works
Full information is provided within the specification. DCMS are seeking to commission "what works" research into the impact and effectiveness of AI adoption interventions within DCMS sectors. We are interested in two broad sets of questions. The first is analysis of how businesses within DCMS sectors that are in the process of adopting AI achieve this, the challenges they face and the opportunities and benefits realised. We anticipate this will be explored through an ethnographic study that observes how individuals and teams actually use AI tools in their jobs. The second set of questions is what policy interventions work best to support businesses that wish to adopt AI, which we anticipate will be answered by testing hypothetical interventions through randomised control trials (RCTs). Bidders will be able to propose alternative methodologies if they think they suit these questions better; the core need for this project is to produce direct, robust evidence of what works, as opposed to what is self-reported (e.g. through interviews, focus groups, surveys, and similar) to work.

It is intended to support the efficient, compliant and timely delivery of Council requirements across the Borough whilst providing support to local firms through direct procurement and ensuring that works are procured and delivered in a manner that meets Council’s operational needs, statutory responsibilities and commitment to transparency in public procurement. The framework is not intended to confer exclusivity on any single supplier, and any subsequent call-off arrangements will be managed in accordance with the terms of the Framework and the applicable requirements of the Procurement Act 2023 and the Procurement Regulations 2024. Council considers that the framework is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises. The nature, scale and geographic focus of the works are expected to provide opportunities for local and regional contractors, including SMEs, to participate as subcontractors. Council will seek to ensure that the procurement documentation is proportionate, accessible and clear, with requirements set at a level that encourage participation from SMEs and to reduce unnecessary barriers to competition. In publishing this notice, the Council is providing advance transparency to the market regarding its intention to establish and award the framework. This notice is intended to inform interested suppliers of the Council’s proposed approach and to support openness, accountability and understanding of the Council’s procurement decisions. Publication of this notice does not create any binding commitment to award the framework, nor does it prevent the Council from amending, delaying or discontinuing the proposed procurement where it considers it appropriate to do so.
