Suffolk County Council has awarded apprenticeship training services to MBKB through established public sector frameworks, specifically the YPO framework Learning providers submitted bids which were filtered based on the Council's service requirements. Defra intends to run an open tender to procure a new long-term UK Bycatch Monitoring Programme and is seeking Expressions of Interest from suppliers capable of delivering the requirements. The programme will monitor and assess the bycatch of sensitive marine species in UK fisheries, including (but not limited to) cetaceans, seabirds, seals, and elasmobranchs. The requirement will primarily cover England and Scotland, with potential involvement from other Devolved Administrations. The successful supplier will build on the existing programme by increasing monitoring coverage where required, enhancing data collection and analysis, integrating monitoring approaches such as observer monitoring and electronic monitoring, and improving understanding of bycatch patterns across fisheries, gear types, locations and seasons. Key outputs will include bycatch monitoring data, annual bycatch estimates and trends, technical reporting, and evidence to support national and international reporting obligations. We envisage that, if a new supplier is appointed, the new contract will start on the 01 June 27 with a one (1) month handover period, from 01 June to 30 June, with full responsibility being transferred to the successful contractor on 01 July 2027. Where applicable, these handover periods are to allow a new Contractor time to get ready to take over the full operation of the contract requirement. The contract will be let for an initial two-year term, with options to extend for two x 3 -12-month periods thereafter. (a total maximum of eight year’s). We estimate the contract value to be between the range of £380,000 - £430,000 funded by Defra and the Scottish Government. The contractor will be required to provide bycatch records and annual estimates of bycatch rates for sensitive marine species, produce information on bycatch trends using historical and newly collected data, and support reporting requirements including UK Marine Strategy assessments, OSPAR, ASCOBANS, ICES and US Marine Mammal Protection Act requirements. The contractor will also be expected to maintain accurate geo-referenced and time-referenced data on monitoring effort and bycatch incidence, produce annual reports for Defra, the Scottish Government and the project steering group, and provide information to support Parliamentary Questions and Ministerial correspondence when required. The Authority strongly encourages a consortium approach, recognising the multi-disciplinary nature of the work and the benefits of bringing together relevant expertise and organisations. The successful contractor will be expected to provide dedicated programme management, maintain effective communication with Defra and the Scottish Government, manage any consortium members or subcontractors, and ensure delivery of the programme’s aims, objectives and reporting requirements.

International waste shipments relate to the import and export of waste across international boundaries. These movements of waste are subject to the controls outlined in the retained EU Waste Shipments Regulations, which aim to ensure a high level of protection for human health and the environment. The regulations also aim to prevent the unauthorised disposal/recovery of hazardous waste shipments in countries where they are not able to handle the waste in an environmentally sound manner, without hindering the legitimate trade in waste. International waste shipments from England can be subject to notification controls, which applies to all imports and exports of: • Hazardous waste moving for recovery • Any type of waste moving for disposal • Some imports and exports of non-hazardous wastes for recovery Where these controls apply, organisations need a uniquely numbered notification and movement form issued by the Environment Agency (EA) before movement of the waste. Organisations could also be subject to ‘green list controls’. These are the lowest level of control and only ever apply to some imports or exports of non-hazardous waste for recovery. Where these controls apply, organisations do not require EA permission before moving the waste, but they do have to comply with Waste Shipment Regulation, Article 18 controls. Under the regulations the EA and other public named bodies carry out regulatory duties to meet their statutory obligations. This includes ensuring that waste, which has been illegally exported or shipments which cannot be completed, can be repatriated back to the UK, preferably within the statutory 30-day timescale. Historically, the 30-day statutory requirement has never been enforced, with the EA and overseas authorities liaising to ensure the waste is repatriated as soon as practicable. Occasionally the EA have to manage repatriations and bear the cost, hence the need for a framework

The purpose of the UK Electrification Skills Framework (UKESF) is to establish a coordinated, evidence-based mechanism for identifying, analysing and communicating current and future skills requirements across the UK's electrification sectors. The framework will support the Battery Innovation Programme's (BIP) objective of strengthening workforce capability by improving alignment between industry demand, skills provision, policy development and investment decisions. UKESF will act as a national convening and intelligence function, bringing together stakeholders from industry, academia, training providers, professional bodies and government. Through structured engagement, data gathering and analysis, the framework will provide the evidence required to support workforce planning, investment decisions and the development of a sustainable electrification skills ecosystem across the UK. To deliver these outcomes, UKRI intends to appoint a single organisation or consortium to establish, administer and manage the UK Electrification Skills Framework, including its governance arrangements, stakeholder engagement activities, evidence-gathering processes, analytical capability and reporting functions.

The BBC operates five full-time orchestras, the BBC Singers and two amateur choruses across the United Kingdom. Together, BBC Orchestras and Choirs undertake a wide range of rehearsals, performances, broadcasts, recordings, education projects and touring activity each year. As part of its commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of orchestral musicians, singers and other staff, the BBC has an ongoing interest in understanding and managing exposure to elevated sound levels during rehearsals, performances, recordings, broadcasts and other music-making activity. The BBC recognises that sound exposure management within professional music environments can be complex. Exposure levels may vary considerably depending on factors such as repertoire, instrumentation, venue acoustics, amplification, stage layouts, rehearsal schedules and individual positions within an ensemble. Through this RFI, the BBC wishes to engage with the market to better understand the capabilities currently available, how comparable organisations are approaching these challenges and what future developments may be emerging in this area.
